Why plumbing prices vary so much here
Access drives most of the difference. A water heater in an open basement is a different job from one in a finished closet, and a sewer repair under a lawn costs far less than one under a driveway or the street. House age matters too: a 1910 house with galvanized pipe hides more surprises than a 2005 house with PEX. Permits, after-hours calls and the season, with frozen-pipe weeks the busiest, also move the number.
How PlumbTek prices a job
The plumber finds the cause first, then gives you the price for the fix before any work starts. When there is more than one reasonable option, you get both and choose. These ranges are guidance, not quotes.
